What Is It?:
For those of you that are not familiar, True Blood is an HBO show based on a series of books referred to as The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. The book as nicely as the series follows an alternate reality where not merely are vampires real, but following the invention of synthetic blood, vampires have come out of the closet, some wanting to live a additional standard life. The series takes location inside the smaller Louisiana town of Bon Temps and follows the major character, Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress who finds herself drawn towards the town’s new vampire resident, as he’s the one individual in the town whose mind she cannot read.
True Blood season 2 picks up ideal where the common HBO series left off in season 1. The small, and not so quiet, town of Bon Temps in Louisiana is the scene of this vampire themed series.
The Good:
The Southern town of Bon Temps gives you a fun backdrop for this story. Take out the vampires, and you still have a entire town full of colourful characters, form shifters, exorcisms along with other weird goings on. I’m also excited concerning the premise of the story with the thought of vampires fighting for equal rights and some even mainstreaming.
The Bad:
Despite a fascinating premise and also a cool backdrop for the story, season one nonetheless relied on too quite a few familiar motifs. The Sookie-Bill-Sam like triangle rang a small bit too close to the Edward-Bella-Jacob scenario in Twilight. “
This season had quite a bit additional character development for a few of the characters in season 1, for instance Eric the sheriff. We also get to meet vampire Bill’s maker and catch a glimpse of their time together prior to Bill went “straight”.

Though I’m all for amping up the sex scenes, this is often a Southern tale with vampires following all, sometimes it is just a little distracting.
Bill and Sookie spend their time dealing with Eric and his problems. This arc shows extra of the vampire culture and their efforts in assimilating into main stream human culture. Of course you will find vampires on either side of the issue, some are for assimilating with the humans and others wish to just treat humans as food and not people.
